Transurban Queensland launches go via network incident response campaign

Transurban Queensland, operator of the go via network, has launched a new road safety campaign to help educate road users about what to do if they break down or have an incident on the go via network.

Transurban Queensland Public Affairs Manager Bridie O’Connor said the campaign, which was timed to coincide with the Easter holiday period, included video, billboards, social media content and variable messaging signs across the network.

“At Transurban Queensland we’re committed to the safety of all road users, which is why we are reminding drivers about our 24/7 free incident response service designed to get motorists safely moving again following an incident on the network,” Ms O’Connor said.

“The campaign aims to promote safe road practices by giving road users key tips on what to do if they have an incident on the motorway or tunnel network.”

Ms O’Connor said motorway and tunnel breakdowns had the potential to create safety risks for the motorist and other road users, and can lead to heavy congestion across the network.

“It is very important that motorists understand what they need to do if they have an incident on the network and avoid taking any unnecessary risks, such as getting out of their vehicle when it is not safe to do so,” she said.

“The network is monitored 24/7 and our incident response crews are there to help keep motorists safe, get them moving again and keep traffic moving safely across the go via network.

The campaign is part of Transurban Queensland’s commitment to deliver exceptional customer service and a safe and efficient transport network.
